                             TESTIMONIALS

WHAT IS LASIK?                          CustomVue™ laser vision correction

LASIK is the procedure of choice for most patients wanting Laser Vision Correction. An instrument is used to peel back a layer (flap) of cornea and the excimer laser reshapes the cornea underneath, after which the flap is laid back to promote fast healing and quick, comfortable return of vision. No stitches are needed.  Only a minute amount of corneal tissue is removed. The surrounding tissue is not disturbed, nor is the structure of the eye weakened.

HOW MUCH DOES THE PROCEDURE COST?
The fee for the procedure starts at $1495. ($995 Per eye)*.  This is a global fee that includes:

  • 12 months of follow up visits with the surgeon
  • most medications and supplies
  • post op kit
  • facility fees
  • laser royalty fees
  • surgeons fees
  • the highest quality of care and dedication to excellence to laser vision correction
  • a surgeon with international experience in laser vision correction, over 5 years before it was approved in the USA
  • 12 months same as cash available!   Click here to apply.

*Fee is for regular Lasik using our Visx S4 excimer laser.  We also offer Customvue personalized laser vision correction. Prices may vary depending on the type of procedure you are a candidate for, and financing options.

WILL I BECOME NEARSIGHTED AGAIN?
The procedure is a permanent correction.  A prerequisite to be considered a good candidate is a stable prescription. If you undergo the procedure when your prescription is unstable, you may regress from your desired laser vision correction result.  Suitable patient selection and education is key for successful results.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
The initial screening and pre surgical work-up exam with an ophthalmologist will take approximately one hour. On the day of surgery, you will be at the center for about an hour. The procedure itself will take only 15-20 minutes, with between 60-120 seconds of actual laser time.

WILL IT HURT?
The procedure itself is virtually painless. You will be given oral pre-op medication to help you relax. Eye drops will be administered. Some patients experience varying degrees of discomfort post-operatively. Pain medication could be prescribed if necessary. Some fluctuation in vision and mild redness is common.

IS THE PROCEDURE "GUARANTEED"?
No refractive surgery is completely predictable therefore NO assurances or guarantees can be given.

WHAT ABOUT READING GLASSES?
Presbyopia will not be treated so the need for reading glasses will still be needed sooner or later.

CAN I WEAR MY CONTACT LENSES RIGHT UP UNTIL THE DAY OF SURGERY?
NO! If you are a contact lens wearer, you will be required to abstain from the contacts prior to surgery. The pre-surgical work-up exam will need to be performed after 3 days of contact lens abstinence if you wear soft contact lenses, 3 wks of abstinence for Rigid Gas Permeable lenses (RGP)s.  If you are being evaluated for CustomVue, then you should be out of lenses for 3 weeks prior to the evaluation.  If you are a suitable candidate for laser vision correction, we will gladly schedule you as soon as possible for your surgery to minimize the inconvenience that being out of contacts could cause you.

WHAT DOES THE PATIENT "DO" DURING THE PROCEDURE?
The patient will need to lay and look at a fixation light. A small eyelid speculum is inserted to reduce blinking and preoperative numbing drops are instilled to increase comfort.   A member of the surgical team will offer patient support and a verbal description of what to expect.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS AFTER SURGERY?
The eyes should not be rubbed post-operatively and dusty environments should be avoided. Swimming and the use of hot tubs should be avoided for a week. Showering is OK, but do not get water directly in the eyes.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Every individual that undergoes the procedure is motivated by what they perceive as their own benefits. Participation in sports and leisure activities without the hassles of corrective lenses or glasses is motivation for some. Others would like to see the alarm clock in the morning without putting on their glasses. Whatever the reason, the vast majority of patients who have undergone LASIK are satisfied with the results.
